What are some of the disadvantages of "slip seating" a truck? I guess its like picking up a new rental car every time you need to drive. Are there any advantages to "slip seating" a truck.

Seems like most of the time I have to drive a truck someone else has been driving it reeks of cigars, b.o. and something else that even Febreeze can't cover up.

Maybe Grossberger from Stir Crazy been farting in that cabin way too long. http://youtu.be/wtEy9A2k2qA So that's why Febreeze doesn't do truck cabins in the commercials.

There's no advantage to the driver. For the company it's the best way to efficiently use the equipment. I look at the worst case; when it's your time to use the truck, the driver before may have been picking his nose, rubbing his oily face and hair, coughing, then touching every knob, gearshift, steering wheel, seat adjuster, etc. Everything you touch in the truck has the other drivers germs, DNA, body waste on it. To be safe you should even clean the door handles on the outside of the truck.

Yes, Yes ...... that is ugly just to think about. I'm clean, not excessive compulsive like "Monk" in the detective series, but if I ventured out in this 7 On 7 Off "slip Seat" endeavor I'd have to bring my supply of sanitary disinfectant wipes. It sounds like a drag having to clean the entire truck for yourself. How often are you changing trucks or is that unpredictable?

Every time you get back in someone else has driven it. But I heard that you and another guy "share" the same truck.

It's always nice when you get in a truck and find the floor covered with chicken bones.

Slip seating is something to be avoided whenever possible.

Beside leaving the truck broken after their shift, now you're dealing with a truck that aint right. Either your driving a broke truck or you're down for a day getting it fixed.... all when the last driver shoulda had this done.
He bangs up a fender or step etc & you gotta deal with it.
He never checks (pre-trips) & its always low on oil, washer fluid etc.
Sleeping in the bed hes been sleeping in (& no telling who else) & doing no telling what in there, with someone or by himself.
Taking everything out & putting everything back each shift besides cleaning that others mentioned.

    well, you asked......
