What are some of the more reputable dealerships where you can lease-purchase a truck with poor credit. If you can manage to save at least 8,000 in the bank as a company driver and then consider a lease purchase through a dealer which ones would you consider?

Thats about the -only- place I trust...they will do purchase but they focus on leasing.
    $3400 down on average.

If you know Allen Smith from "truck about trucking" - he can't rave highly enough of these guys. I spoke to them on the phone and was impressed.

Thanks yeah I heard Allen Smith talking about it online. I'll check into them if and when I'm ready. Any info about Selectrucks? I looked at their website ..seems ok from what I read.

$8,000.00 will BUY you decent truck... some outfits won't let older units come on so screw them and do your own thing or find a company that WILL take an old truck.

Arrow and Lone Mountain are where I would head.

Why's it "okay" to lease from these guys but not from companies, eh? Still won't end up with the truck at the end, you have an old crappy truck and you still have to cover all expenses including repairs.

    So what's the difference?

A good truck for $8K? Plz post a picture of that truck or a link with the details. Thank you.

As soon as I have $8,000 I'll look into that thanks. Could be a while I just want to get some info way ahead of time.

We bought roughly 100 Columbias from Select Trucks back from a major fleet. Complete problem children....riddled with issues.

I'm sure someones back was slapped and someone will get a case of whiskey for xmas and likely a couple of weeks at a well stocked hunting cabin for this deal.

I'm also sure someone else has lost a major slice of arse and perhaps their job.

If you lease from a company you are married to that company. If you buy from an outside source you are free to switch carriers if need be. Many companies use the lease purchase as a ploy to get naive drivers and then they turn around and cut their miles when they near the end of the lease. I've heard many stories like that. Unless you know that company is honest and won't screw you than you might have a chance.

That's good to know. How long ago ? I'm not even ready yet by a long shot but figured I start doing some research anyway.
