Whats the local $.02 on google maps versus windows streets (I am personally not a big fan of microsoft) I personally like the google features, but would like some info on what really works in the wonderful world of trucking. BTW I am starting school in SLC UT in a week and would appreciate opinions, info etc. Thanks.......

i use google all the time. (along with directions from customer,RM atlas etc.)
i really like the satellite zoom. i can see if there is parking available close-by or onsite (zoom in and look for trucks sitting)LOL

For me, Google maps worked great on general directions and to find streets. The drawback is, it does not give you truck routes for low clearances and weight restricted streets. I used both, google and verify in my my Atlas book for restrictions and weight.

Google is great, its a wonderful way to find an address in town. I always double check googles routing with a paper map when planning a long haul. Ditto on the satellite feature it is way cool.
