PJ sold out to Big Tex a few years back. It doesn’t appear that the quality of a PJ has changed though. At least from what I’ve seen. You can definitely get a 35, or 40’ full tilt. I’d go Load Trail with a full 40’ tilt myself, if I was shopping for one. This way, if I wanted to I could use it to load and unload empty containers. I get a lot of calls from people requesting that type of service in my area but I’m to busy moving other freight.
if you buy a tilt, you’ll want a winch, and the batteries to run it mounted on the tilt part itself. The single battery that operates the hydraulics it is t enough to do both. A lot of trailer dealerships don’t fully realize what you’ll want, or need. They’ll pre drill, and even mount winches on the neck. Then you’re pulling down on the tilted deck as you’re trying to winch something on. Not good.
On my last tilt trailer I mounted two extra batteries next to the winch and then wired up some solar panels to keep it charged up and ready to go when I needed it. With a single battery you’ll find that after tilting the bed a few times you won’t have enough battery left for doing any winching.
