don't get shot lol that's a crazy little town. I deliver a lot of redwood to scotia and I would hate to be there in a lumber truck. Way too busy of a place

Don't worry about the Swift trucks using 299. One good winter and they'd be piled up at the bottom of Lord Ellis or Berry Summit. Or maybe scraping the guardrails just before Burnt Ranch.

And you guys are right. I liked Buckhorn the way it was.

    Rugerfan and LostOne9 Thank this.

yeah I don't think they would do too well coming across 299. besides that to run this area you need to have paper logs and be able to get back to I-5 from the coast other wise they will be screwed when their e-log runs out in burnt ranch or weaverville

I've done this run a few times, I shut down at that scale right before willow creek... Dark and reasonably quiet.

I almost like 199 better than 299 now lmao

Hoopa is one crazy little place. A friend of mine was sort of banished there by her family after she got pregnant at age 13. That was in the 1970's & she still has stories.

I love Happy Camp though. 36 & 96 are two of the best motorcycle roads I know of, I try to get up there on a bike at least once every summer.

You guys ever run out of Covelo? I think the day they closed the mill there was the happiest of my life.
