Hmm maybe. Not on the eureka side but maybe on the customer side. There does seem to be a few grumps over there lol. Maybe that's why Steve has been in a truck the last few days

Really appreciating this thread. Trying to get out of Modesto (when you're born here, it's like a vortex). Looking to move back up to the Pac NW and was looking into companies there. Do you think Bettendorf would accept ag hauling as experience, or do they want OTR type exp?

Also, you guys were driving TRUCKS on the 20 at NIGHT?? I was driving a rented car on it westbound after dark, and man, it was DARK, and thought I was going to crap my pants when I couldn't see the edge of the road, just a bunch of monster trees coming up out of the chasm in my fading headlights....

[ I have to edit -- A couple hours later with Google Maps I realized it was the 1 from Leggett going SW. Holy crud that was scary.]

lol 20 is a piece of cake. Bettendorf I think just looks at general driving experience not just OTR. They have yards in White City, OR and Arcata, Anderson, and Lincoln...

299 or 199 is way worse than 20.. 199 is my favorite though. Seriously I'm not sure why though.

I wonder if hwy 20 is open.... Bad fire

Oops, sorry man. It took me a couple hours with Google maps and racking my brain, but it was just so dark that night... I was on the 1 from Leggett... that was a hairy-### drive in the dark. All the way to the coast and down to Ft. Bragg. (It just didn't seem right because I didn't remember going thru Westport, but I guess it was that dark.)

299 can be tricky if you have never been on it before.it's fun to me since I run it everynight but I've never been on 199

199 is Really narrow in a few spots with a cliff on one side and guard rail on the other. But it's a lot shorter than 299

luckily the past couple months I have only been running 3 to Anderson everynight. Something about heading to the coast kind of depresses me lol
