And the sellout move making a bright orange seatbelt so it is extremely visible. My Volvo had a dark gray one, but I see a lot of trucks with flourescent yellow or orange ones. Tattle tales.

That doesn't really bother. I'm fully compliant when it comes to seat belts.

Come on Dave! It clashes with my outfits sometimes. Today I am all about looking like I am ready for a night out, not the type of driver who gets dirty. Color coordinating matters:cool:

It's funny to me. However I have seen drivers using orange seatbelt cutouts pinned to their shirts. I saw a guy with one attached to his shirt while buying fuel in Van Horn Texas. I asked him about it and he told me the cops in that area loved to use binoculars.

I don't fool with the man that way. You play the clown, then you get stopped, then the dude finds a valve stem cap missing................................

Faulty equipment. Non moving, no points, nothing on your psp. This is your entire career flashing before your eyes. Again, I cannot emphasize enough how serious a cell phone violation is to insurance companies, carriers and your cdl. Another one and your license is suspended. In fact, if you don’t fight it, there is a good chance that when ole Swift gets around to it, they will fire you. Especially after the ticket becomes a conviction. That’s a lot of csa points for them. Up there with a DUI or a reckless driving. Fight it.

Speaking of playing with the man. Several months ago during one of my treatments I was speaking to a guy near 90 today they used to drive for Thurston (yes I remember this company) He and I both laughed as he told me how they tortured the diesel cops. This was in the days before the FMCSA came into existence. He told me something my father also told me many years ago. DOT cops really went after fuel tax evasion and permits. This was back in the days when a tractor might have 15 tags on it. They were so busy making sure these trucks had bought fuel etc etc that the HOS and log books were always considered a pack of lies and had a lower priority. Back in the 50s and 60s before IFTA get caught in say Mississippi and show no proof of buying fuel OR not having a Mississippi fuel permit, drivers got arrested. It was a lot of fun to drive back then according to just about every old timer I have spoken to.

I pass them doing the speed limit. Hell, I’ve passed them doing 68 in California. 95% of the time they are on their phone themselves.
