You drive a day cab Volvo, your opinion isn't relevant.

I'd give the max and jail time. If it were someone from a foreign country breaking our laws, I'd impound the rig too.

Where did this occur? We'll send a recommendation to the DOT in that jurisdiction.

And no one here has even asked why was OP on cell phone in first place while driving a big rig ? Why even make it a case of he said she said with the Trooper.? Put the phone down and wish people will quit using ear buds. U need to hear to drive. How are u supposed to hear an ambulance behind u or a train horn with you tuning the outside world out ?

You're lucky this wasn't at the scale in Banning. This is the DOT tiger they feed mobile phone violators to around the back of the coup.

I had the prepaid legal service offered through my company. They charged me around eight dollars a week for it. Usually if you hire a lawyer directly to handle a traffic ticket expect to pay him around two fifty plus whatever the fine end up being. At least, that's what it cost me the one time I did it that way.

PS: If you ever decide to subscribe to a prepaid legal service I don't recommend going through your employer. Every time I got a ticket and called the legal service I got a call from safety within the hour. The quid pro quo for the payroll deduction service is that anything a driver gives to the legal service gets copied to safety.
