Got a Citation, Unsafe Lane Change in NC will I get points for it?

Got a similar violation a couple years ago. It really depends on whether companies specify major violations or total violations. Some kind of view them all the same and some don't tolerate any unsafe lane change, following distance, etc., but will tolerate a few more minor ones. I didn't get cited however, so that might make a difference. Easier to fight a citation and DataQ it if you got a violation on an inspection as well.

If the rest of your record is clean, I wouldn't stress over it too much.

As far as your current company, I don't know. When I got mine, all I really got was told that I'd benefit from fighting it and don't do it again. And lost a month's safety bonus.

I did, more details, there were a lot of cars that were coming onto the interstate and I tried to move to the middle lane to let them get in and there was another truck that was coming in the middle lane and swerve to the left lane and hit a pickup truck, he said he didn't see my signal but I guess it's my fault for not waiting until he pass to move over.
