They know, I called them right away, and there're cool about it ( at least for now lol ), I'm with a pretty decent company, they're not bad, it's just, I'm doing flatbed and I don't really like it, it's dirty work, I sweat a lot, securing a lumber load in a 96 degree sun in Florida is no joke. So I wanted to switch to Tanker when I hit my 1 year mark.
Got a Citation, Unsafe Lane Change in NC will I get points for it?

When I say it's "impossible", I meant with outside forces, you could be minding your own business and a car comes out of no where and rear-ended you, won't be your fault, but it's still an accident, maybe you're talking about the ones that you're at fault.

Tanker companies are more sensitive to "improper lane change" and cellphone tickets than reefer, van, flatbed.
Who's job is it to not have an accident/ticket, if not the CDL driver behind the wheel? There's probably not much you can do to prevent from being rear-ended other than NEVER EVER park on the shoulder unless you are on fire. You know at every on-ramp an idiot is likely to merge badly. You know people lose their minds and drive badly in bad weather. The people with a passenger car license receive no training and their only test was when they were 16 years old. You received training and rode with a trainer. We don't have an excuse. If we drive like a 4-wheeler we will get 4-wheeler results and be a 4-wheeler quickly. We aren't supposed to be some helpless victim unless everyone cooperates to make our life easy and care-free. We are supposed to anticipate the most common driving situations and then protect ourselves by driving the way professionals drive.surf_avenue, LOTSO and nextgentrucker Thank this. -
There’s many drivers today that are taught not to use their mirrors because “they are not liable for what’s behind them. Your responsibility is to
1. Get Paid
2. Get Home Safely
The way you get paid maximum dollar is by developing your reputation as the Go-To driver, who never drops the ball. You FLOW through traffic. You read traffic and anticipate everyone else moves. This is done by keeping an Out. You have to constantly monitor the mirrors as the Out changes positions constantly. The better you flow, the less stressful and crazy your day, the less mental fatigue, the sharper you stay all day. Do the best you can. The things you can’t control, the multitudes of non driving idiots, you don’t worry about them. They get mashed up, you keep rolling. At the end of your day, reward yourself with a shower and a good meal.surf_avenue, MACK E-6 and nextgentrucker Thank this. -
Cool, I'll try my best to develop my driving skills.

You're right, hopefully I don't get any points, it would be worse to have them, when I apply to another company.

Good job on the rest of what you said, but on this I have one contrary point.
That may be true in your line of work, but there are some where becoming the “go-to guy” means you’ll be the one who gets ####ed every day.nextgentrucker, TripleSix and Numb Thank this. -
My instructor had a clipboard he made notes on whine we were driving and it had a stopwatch on the top , he would hold his clipboard up and block your view of the right side mirror and start the stopwatch and see how long it took the student to say something about not being able to see the mirror .
If it was more than 10 or 12 seconds thw instructor was not happy .
he would ask students “what did that last sign say ?”
“without looking , how much fuel do you have ?”
“without looking , what color is the car behind us ?”
“we just passed a mile marker , what number was on it ?”
etc etc
he was a very good instructor
And he expected you to pay attention to what was going on around you and to always ALWAYS expect the other vehicle to do something stupid and have a way to react already in mind .
It’s hard to pay attention like that for hours and hours every day , it makes you tired .
the school had a old trailer that was 96 wide and 45 long , and if he had a student that would wobble and weave
He’d take em on a county road , they’d have to learn to not wobble etcsurf_avenue, nextgentrucker and kemosabi49 Thank this.
