Got a letter today being denied a driving job for a better qualified applicant

For the most part that statement means that an experienced driver already knows when a dispatcher/company is putting the screws to him , and will call them on it....a rookie just hasn't been around long enough to realize that there are some things that he just doesn't have to put up with. A company like that isn't worth a "good drivers " time ......

 

why would having bad credit keep someone from getting a job?

Potential employers do not want the constant hassle and extra costs dealing with your creditors looking for $ , or court officals on wage garnishment for collecting & paying your child support all the while listening how a drivers making no $

 

Wait till you finish school then re-apply. I'm sure they are not willing to consider you because of the fact your still in school and you don't have a CDL yet.

 

You asked why and I posted reasons , can the attitude (should I just give up ) and think about why some companies are concerned about it , some companies could care less as long as you walk and breath your a candidate .

 

Ok well your likely going to get a lot of rejections until you hit a company that will consider inviting you to orientation ( just the way it is this time of year ).

So decide what you want then apply to as many that fit your needs as possible , and others noted check their requirements beforehand if possible.
