Did they give the truck a parking ticket are did they get you DL and give it to you? When I pulled reefer and one was left on windshield, I would just turn it in with my paperwork and let company deal with it.

Ohio and Indiana used to have it marked on the toll tickets. Not sure if they still do but it said something to the effect of “if more than 12 hours elapsed from time of issuance, full rate from the furthest toll both will be charged’

I agree, I’d just pay it. How much is it?

    Here's the State/TP Authority Law

The Blue Dots are the Section (or whatever the Legal Beagles call it)

I would try to hand that ticket to the company. You did your part, the ticket is a result of your travel agent failing to do theirs.

Odds are they will refuse to pay it. But there would never be another time where I would be sitting in any service plaza.

Here’s the problem I see with that.

You could keep going until you get clear of the toll road and thus away from any of this garbage, just in time for the idiot in the office to finally decide to pull his eyes away from Facebook or whatever and hand you a load that you have to turn around and go the opposite direction to pick up.

That time lag could add up to probably a hundred extra miles you won’t get paid for because “nobody told you to go that far out of route”.

I can think of other reasons. Every time I'm at a truck stop to fuel or meet my relay driver, I reflect on what a good decision it was to be local, home-daily from day one. I don't like having to spend 30 minutes in one of those places, never mind 10 or even 34 hours.

Sounds like the pen cap pops off at 9 hours 59 minutes and it's show time. Thank you for bringing us our much needed goods, now here's a little something for you in return.

Many years ago I was on the Kansas turnpike and took my 10 at a service area.
It was before I had Pike Pass so I was paying cash for the tolls.
Yup, they got me good for parking more than 2 hours.

I sometimes get loads around there that do not allow me enough time to get past the service areas before I have to shut down, or I need to shut down the night before for a delivery the next morning.
I have Pike Pass now so I don't need to worry about carrying a lot of cash, it is just billed to my company.

Those places usually have signs mentioning that stopping for more time will result in a higher toll fee.
Places that give a strict time limit are harder to deal with.

First I’ve heard of it, believe it or not.

All this time I assumed the primary concern was LESS time than expected, indicative of speeding.
