    Last quarter's IFTA sheet

    OH = 0.28

    KY = 0.255
    KY surch = 0.123

    KY = 0.378

    IN = 0.16
    IN surch = 0.11

    IN = 0.27

    Indiana's total tax is 0.01 less than OH

    It all depends on where you run. NJ is cheap [0.17] while PA os over 0.36.
    The NJ guys I knew who paid the most bought all their fuel in NJ building up a credit at the 0.17 rate while running up a PA tax bill at a rate of 0.36 and paid out a couple hundred each quarter.

    As long as they are saving more than that couple of hundred dollars on fuel over the qtr ... nothing wrong with that.

    The best way to do it is to subtract the tax paid at the pump, then buy in the cheapest place. You'll pay the same monetary amount of tax whether you pay at the pump or end of quarter.
