not too familiar with that exact area but my parking ticket was on Carson St itself, some of the signs are hard to see and find, when I went back I finally found the one I was looking for which was right under an overpass and hard to see stating "Truck parking prohibited in the city of carson unless otherwise posted" or something along those lines, unless there is a sign that says Truck parking for so many hours then you get a ticket. I know your ticket was for something else and I do know that there are streets around the area thats prohibited for trucks to drive on but almost impossible to find the signs. Only some of the streets have the truck route sign posted that I have seen.

I went there yesterday to check it out in my pov. I didnt see any signs on the route I was on. I was going 405 north and got off of Santa Fe, headed north away from that overpass bc the overpass is south. If theres a sign under there, I would of not seen it. I continued north to Carson St and on the east side of Santa Fe, there are alot of Commercial Container bins, so I know its gotta be somewhat trucker freindly. Santa Fe is a truck route. When you get to Carson St you look right (East) and you see trucks parked there. Even trailers on the street. I looked (west) on Carson and theres a TT there doing a delevery yesterday. Thats where the Sherieff unit saw me at whilst pulling over the other TT last week. I asked the driver if he ever gets messed with delevering here, he said no and I told him I got a ticket driving thru here. I continued west towards the bridge that leads to Alameda and still didnt see any signs. But low and behold, the street he mentions in the ticket has a sign that goes north off of carson after making a left from Santa Fe, which is Prospect. I didnt go down that street or come from that street. But thats where he has posted when I passed him going west on Carson st.

Well the mountain bypass near my home, which is between pleasant gap and centre hall is restricted for trucks more than 10 tons. Thanks to their gps for cars and not noticing the signs, they get pulled over.

Of course, none of that matters in the least if you land in front of a judge with an anti-truck bias. I've been there once.

I got a parking ticket at 5PM in Ontario,Ca. signs posted said no parking from 7PM to 6AM, of coarse there where 10 parked cars there also, no tickets. I had some time so I went to the police station, I asked why I got a ticket, I was parked within the parking time frame posted, he said no commercial truck parking on any public street in Ontario, I asked where the signs were? The guy told me that they can't post signs on all the streets, and I should know the city ordnance's. Say what! I guess we need to study all the city's ordnances before we enter each city we deliver in??? He also said the Police in the L. A. area are not trucker friendly. I am working on not ever driving a semi in California. Wait till diesel goes up .50/gallon next year

I suspect, with admittedly insufficient evidence, cops often deliberately cite the wrong code on a ticket for non-serious offenses for the benefit of the driver, feeling the cost of having it dismissed being adequate punishment.

Yeah, true that. The best strategy then, is to consult a lawyer for a free consultation and give them the facts. Fish out some answers on what you should --or should NOT--say.

When the ticket is almost due, file an extension with the court. These are automatically granted. You can get a 60 day extension most of the time.

Near the very end of the extension period, do a Trial by Written Declaration. Send in your bail amount and MAKE SURE THE COURT RECEIVES THE PAPERWORK *BEFORE* THE DUE DATE or else you can get FTA.

If the officer fails to file his response in a timely manner, your case is DISMISSED. HOWEVER if they find you guilty at this point, now you request a Trial de Novo--a new trial, and a court appearance in person. Hire a lawyer to represent you at the in person trial. You get to argue your case at this point. If the cop fails to show up to court, DISMISSED!

If I don't pay a wrong lane citation that I got in California in my semi, will they suspend my Ga license? I don't plan on going back to that state.
