I was on 465 Thursday when an Indy cop pulled me over. Wrote me up for 4 things:
    1. 10 over the speed limit
    2. Driving in one of the truck restricted lanes
    3. Not providing proof of registration
    4. Not providing proof of insurance
With regard to the last 2, I did find the registration and insurance information while he was running my license and showed it to him but he already had the ticket in hand. He said to call and they would probably drop those 2 charges. With regard to the other 2, obviously I broke the law but I’m particularly pissed about the speeding since almost no one goes the speed limit on 465. I’m guessing he nailed me for it since I was in a hammer lane too.

I don’t live in Indiana, and I obviously want to keep my license in good standing. Just wondering how I should go about this?

    (1) call 1 of those outfits that fights tickets
(2)stay out of the hammer lane when it's CLEARLY REPEATEDLY marked
    (3) Stop speeding.

My company sent out a message several days ago warning us about that. Doesn't affect me. I do not speed, stay in the proper lane, and have all of my documents. Best advice......hire a lawyer and try to get them reduced. May cost you $1200 or so. Good luck!

Also seeing alot more speed cameras in these northern/eastern cities. I'm guilty of running 2-3 over the limit in areas that are 65-70, but out of the cities. Hauling 80k there's too much going on in those areas to be focusing on everything and add looking for cops in time to slow down.

Stay out of truck restricted lanes, don’t go more that 5 mph over the limit, ever.

I admit it, I cheer when I see a truck pulled over for that stuff.

It’s pretty hard to actually get pulled over by an Indianapolis city police unit. Especially on 465. Maybe you shouldn’t have been going 65 in a 55 in the hammer lane? Maybe you should have proof of registration and insurance readily available? Depending on where at on 465 you had minimum of 2, if not 4 slower lanes to run in.

Honestly, you sound like a hot mess. lol. Hopefully this is a wake up call. I rarely ever see a city unit having a truck pulled over. Always a state boy. Indiana is having a safe driving push right now for following too closely and erratic driving.

2-3 over is understandable and I am sure rarely enforced on Interstates. It is the morons that run 70 thru 45-50 mph work zones and congested areas thru cities that are 55mph.
