I was waiting for a load at a packing shed, and the shipper askd me if I wanted to run a 53' empty 3 miles down the road and pick up a loaded trailer at their other plant while I waited for $80. I said sure, locked on to the trailer and noticed the axles set a little past 40ft(42.5ft to be exact) from the kingpin, but left them alone figuring I'd be alright for that short of distance. Of course by the thread title, you can guess what happened next.
This is my first ticketed moving violation in 10 years of driving(they did give me a 1 point violation 8 years ago for parking off the side of the freeway though) and I really don't want it on my record so I will have someone attempt to fight it if I have to.
My question to all you drivers out there familiar with Violation 35400(a) in California, do you know if this is a point violation or not? Oh yeah and I am a Kalifornia resident now.
Got a ticket in Cali for having my axles set back 40+ feet. Point violation?

I recevied one and in North Carolina where I live it doesn't show up on my MVR but with CSA2010 it could show up as a MOVING VIOLATION -
For such a severe infraction as the state of Kaliphornia deems this, it's probably a $5000 fine, automatic 5 year CDL suspention plus jailtime. How much bond did you have to post?

it will only show up on cvsa2010 if they filled out the inspection form also only getting a ticket will not go on cvsa2010.

Thats why you couldn't pay me to go to Kaliphornia them SOBs gave me a ticket 20 years ago $780 for speeding in the left lane of 580 ask me didn't I see the signs "Trucks Use 880" like I was going to tell him but he told me he was giving me a break on the speeding but I glad it was a city cop when the state cop showed up he was pissed cause he didn't get to write it up then he pulled out a creeper and did a dot good thing I had a brand new trailer (only second load on it) and truck only had about 25k miles on it dont know if that ticket ever got paid turned it in to company and it never came out of my check(second reason I have and never will go back)
