Got a written warning from safety for having the visor down

    I think you are over-reacting. It's internal warning. You have it whether you stay or leave. Leaving will make the warning appear more important than it is if a new company checks your reference with current company.

    I would ask Safety Dept for written instruction about when it is permissable to use your sunvisor and then comply with that policy. My last truck with a cam was installed in a position where the visor blocked view of driver. It's one thing to leave it down because it blocks the view of driver and another thing to use the visor for actual sun-blocking.

    Hiring is slow. Quitting now, with a warning doesn't make you more desirable at another company. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

    I understand, but at the same time, everyone is hiring drivers, it's not just that, that just pushed it, there trucks are also ridiculous slow. to the point of causing road rage, from other drivers and i dont want to possibly get injured because of it. I would understand if I was a bad driver and employee but I'm not. I get the job done safely and professionally. and at this point I do have the experience. and a clean driving record as well as cleaning house.

    I got the same crap at my company . They have told me to put my visor up to not block the camera. I told them they can come find a way to drag their truck back to the yard 2k miles from the shop or quit calling me with petty ####. I do good work and have 0 violations. The only part of me you can't see eif my face. #### off.
    Got written up for it . My visor is still down.... I make sure to give the camera the middle finger at least once a day

    these are the same companies that complain they can't find any good drivers. I wonder why the f not

    I'd tell them to move their camera to an appropriate spot if it concerns them and that they should write up whoever installed the camera.

    That's the catch 22.

    Did not mean to encourage you to quit, not my intention at all. Just get pissed at what ya'll have to contend with.

    As @tscottme said, hiring is slow.

    No, not everyone is hiring in this crap market & those that are are able to be very selective in their hiring. The hiring market is not in favor at all for new inexperienced drivers.

    I'm not the one dealing with the situation, so it's easy for me to get worked up & spout ####. YOU are the one in the situation, not me & have to contend with it.

    If all else is good with company (and it seems it is from limited bit you posted), I would try to have a civil, mature conversation with them about this.

    Hopefully, you can come to some sort of mutual understanding that satisfies both sides.

    Again, it's easy for me to just react & spout off about something I read & do not have to deal with. I'm not just starting out & having to pay my initial dues to make my way in any longer. I fail to remember that at times.

    Talk to them as a civilized mature adult & see how things go.

    If this is the only thing bad for you, I do believe some sort of resolution will likely be found.

    I hate seeing it, but I also have to remember I am in a completely different position than most all company guys.

    Seasoned drivers chuckle and would never have tolerated such foolishness, yet, here we are.( because of our shenanigans?) As mentioned, it's an internal warning, and I doubt has any effect on your record, but coupled to the other things you mention, it would be enough to make me start looking. Spring is coming up fast, and trucking will pick up, happens every year, so a good time to look. The only obstacle I see is when a new company calls this one, but any reasonable company will see what silliness this is, blocking the camera, right here,,:bootyshake:, oops, wait, raise the visor, now, :booty:, you'll be fine.

    It's ironic they would write you up for a safety issue because you were actually using a safety device to be able to drive more safe without the sun in your eyes. After all, that's what the visor is for.

    Personally, I'd go over their head and bring this matter to a department manager or something because you need to be able to use your visor. They're penalizing you for using an actual safety device properly.

    They installed their disrespectful privacy invading tearless retina in a poor location. In fact, it's the device that's unsafe. If they expect their device to have a better sight than the driver it's pretty obvious they're the creators of an unsafe condition.

    You should make your complaint in writing spelling out these details and find another job.

    Don't worry about this being mentioned on an employee verification for a new job. It's just a form and specifics like this aren't imcluded.

    The old employer would have to add a statement in their own words about it and the chances of that happening are nill. I've linked a copy of the form so you can see yourself what's requested.
