Don't drive drunk and kill someone as the other Celadon driver did...not a knock on you. I would guess it has gotten very strict since this

If you fall victim to their flease deal, get a w9. At least you can go out in style

When my husband got let go from Celadon (BS about a ticket they knew about before he was hired by another of their companies) other companies told him Celadon's training isn't DOT certified or something. He had to go through everything all over again. Congrats on the job. Hope you get a good trainer. He had 4, I think. First guy ran nights & didn't like trainees driving his truck, second guy's truck messed up before they picked up the first load (trainer driving), third I don't remember what happened to, last liked getting miles. His rig was supposedly hooked up with lots of goodies. He supposedly had been home 2 days since last July. This were all over about 3 weeks. He sat at the terminal in the truck over Memorial day weekend & waited almost a week at the terminal for them to get him with the second trainer. Don't remember those $.18 com pay checks. Did get $360 reimbursement for picking him up from 8 hours away!

Celadon is OK to get started, but since you live in Illinois, why not Earl Henderson Trucking in Caseyville?
They have a good program and provide a single occupancy hotel room & 3 meals a day during CDL school. Their new trucks have APU's. Guaranteed minimum weekly paycheck which helps you budget; this is good if money is tight.
Here's some items you need with any company:
original social security card
original birth certificate
sleeping bag & pillow
steel toed work boots-slipon style
cheap work gloves
flashlight
fine tip ball point pen w/black ink. Zebra brand is best.
Most companies with CDL training will have you fill out a paper application the first day of school and it BETTER match the one you filled out online. If the application is complex, then write down everything you put on the online application and take it with you.
If money if real tight for you, take some Ramen Noodles to use on the road until your first paycheck. Microwave use is free in truckstops & hotel.Ga Dawg141, TruckerWife630, Redbeard93 and 2 others Thank this.
