I was recently called in the Office about making a left hand turn at 20 mph by the camera in my mentors truck at Swift.
I found out the camera is always on it records the hole time you are in the truck that's how it shows before and after a critical event, it then's make a snippet of a few minutes before the event and a few minutes after the event and during the event.

However there was no critical event during my turn no hard braking or hitting anything so it must monitor all actions to catch that turn
    DO you think that's possible

"left hand turn at 20 MPH" ... what sort of policy does Swift have regarding turns and speed?

They could have a lateral g-force sensor in the tractor that detects rapid turns just like it detects hard braking events.

But beyond that, there is nothing that says they can't save random clips for later review, as well as the critical events.

My guess is the g forces exerted by the turn triggered an event in the system.

Of course, you will have the defenders tell you that you did something wrong, and you're a bad person and should be ashamed of your driving because they were told by their trusty driver manager that that camera only records a critical crash or braking event.

Do you realize now, what the driver cam is for?

Swift can watch (and listen to) drivers anytime they want.. multiple drivers have uncovered that at Swift and with drivers cams at other carriers.

Another reason to NOT work there.

I'm confused, what's wrong with taking a turn at 20 MPH? Or is it just left turns, like you can have at it for right turns?

I agree with this. I thought 15-20mph was a pretty #### safe speed to make turns. Especially if it was a left turn as those are going to be wider anyway?

Idk ... Unless maybe you whipped around a 90 turn. As in, almost missed your turn and at the last second just closed your eyes and whipped your truck around ..... BUT WHO WOULD EVER DO SUCH A THING LIKE THAT?!?!?!! lolol
