I did get a credit card just in case im under and i can get quick cash in an event like yours. I dont know if you have one but if there is something that i learned is that i made more money working closer to home and avoiding those DOT's I got lucky because i got a tractor with almost everything replaced new when they put this tractor in the disposal list. but if you can find something closer and pays good, i would do it. Now i understand that you cant go with out a check for a couple of weeks, if i was in your shoes, i would get a credit card and pay it as soon as i can. I broke all of my credit cards 4 years ago when the economy went down but i can use it if i should need it. Good luck Driver.

I guess you didn't see my post about just having to spend $3000 on the brakes, bearings and all that stuff. I've only owned the trailer for 6 months. The tires aren't cupped. No where does it say that my tires are cupped. I was not aware that if ANY part of the tire was under 2/32nds that it was a violation. I have been fixing things as I can afford them. Just trying to maximize the time between repairs. That's all. I'm very good about maintaining my vehicles. But you can only afford what you can afford. I'm not rich, I don't have any rich family members I can go to for help. I'm not trying to get away with anything and I do not run illegal. Like I said. I was under the impression that the tires where still good. I had a yearly inspection and a mid trip inspection performed a couple if months ago and neither one pointed out any issues with the tires. I was trying to get clarification on why they stated my tires were in violation. So thanks for not dumping on me, but next time try reading more of the posts so you can get the whole story first.

Are you sure this is a citation? It says "Driver contact/equipment warning" at the top of it and I didn't sign it. It just has a check by log book and speed. No specifics for either one. The inspection report states "No violations found" that's the full size report that I signed and faxed to DOT.

The first inspection was a level 3. Driver only. He gave me the blue warning ticket but put no violations found on the actual inspection.

Check your DOT safety records in 90 days, warnings do go onto the CSA and you cannot fight or contest a warning.

This is where I got my information.
A few bald spots are usually the result of cupping, or from being slid. The only other way is for a tire to be worn completely down to the cords.

Ok. I figured out how to post the pics of the tires. Like I said. I have owned this trailer for 6 months and have put almost $5000 into it between the brakes, the reefer and other tires that I have replaced.

Which was my point on the last page about it being subjective...and to which at that point I didn't want to bicker with the poster. Just because it has to be "quantified" don't mean theres a golden rule on how quantifiable it is or needs to be... you can have one lug for example on the tread of a tire that is a bit worn down, or an air hose that has the potential to rub on a spash guard but isn't, nor is it close to touching and has no evidence of having touched (one I was written up for)... and they can call it a flat spot or say it was rubbing even though its not (bad examples but the point can be ascertained), which makes the rule, and thus the decision making process... subjective. Our entire legal system is that way. There is NOTHING in black and white... its all gray.. and CSA was written that way, i'm sure, for that particular reason. And, don't get me started on the lack of due process in CSA....

My apologies for having hijacked... it was just sort of on topic...
