Thats good if hes helpful. I know for a fact that there are alot of undercover DOT's officers posing as fake Drivers. Just saying. This is now for Adritransport, yea bud, one of those tires does look illegal. I have Been there and luckly i got away with very bad and illegal tires for two months going through my secret back roads of Florida. Luckly i made enough money to buy legal tires for 8 months. $60.00 used tires. I'm fine now but a couple of Drivers went hard on Adriansport and any of us could be in his situation where a major component of the truck goes down and theres no money at the moment! We all had that feeling when the service dept. clerk gives us the amount and we pause for a moment!

Yes, but I am not posing as a fake driver. Actually, I am a trucker (or ex-trucker) in a DOT uniform.

Notice my handle - Scalemaster - I am not trying to hide anything.

Got news for you sir, heard that the Obama Administration is going to cut alot of jobs because of the budgets and one of the cuts is Dot Officers in the Midwest! Here in Florida, the Dot is training the Fl State Troopers and eventually, FL Dot will be eliminated and the troopers will do that job. Hopefully your area is not affected, you might be trucking with us again!

They're doing that up here. In Ontario, MTO is being downsized and OPP is doing their job in some locations. Unfortunately what we end up with is a bunch of bottom of the barrel cops enforcing laws they don't understand concerning equipment they know nothing about. It's a friggin' gong show.

Oh and as far as maint. Go ahead and do all belts and hoses on truck. Cheap insurance. Sucks having hose go out at 3am and no water or parts for miles. Its cold and you cant idle, it really sucks.

an inspector can inspect any spot on the tire, and if it is below minimum, that tire is violation

guys i know that have their own authority say they are required to send their logs to a third party (or something to that affect)

whenever a cop is trailing me, i drive 1mph below the speed limit, because once you are 1mph above, you have given them a reason to pull you over
