NOOOOOOOOO!!! Run away as fast as you can from a truck with a Maxxforce engine. Bill Gates can't afford to try to keep it running. Otherwise the specs are good, and I like a lot of things about the truck in general, but STAY AWAY from International engines. If you really want a Cornfield Cadillac, get one with a Cummins.

I might also add, caps might not be a good idea. If you are having your own first-run tires capped, then maybe, provided you haven't had any issues that would affect the casings. Caps are different these days, but they used to like to come apart a lot, hence the pieces all over the road.

mountaingote, LOL. :biggrin_2559: I agree, unless it's gotten cheap, I'd probably stay away. Such a shame, as International was just one of the best trucks, now I've heard, not so much. This probably has 1.2 million miles on it. I totally agree on the caps. Junk. I ran nothing but virgin tires on my tractors, and never had a problem.
missjhawk, while I'm proud that you are making the plunge, dream come true, at least it was for me, but can quickly turn into a nightmare. I suggest (over and over) go with an older KW. ( Cummins or Detroit, Cat's, too expensive to fix) Might spend a little more, but totally worth it, AND NO RECAPS, please!!! :biggrin_25512:

Hi loc, I don't have a lot of experience with Cat's, most all the trucks I drove, including my own, had Cummins motors, but I believe, the 3406B was Cat's best motor.

We had a Cat C15 in our 2003 KW T600. Lasted well over the million mile mark. Best engine I ever ran. The Cummins isx is ok
