I would have gone straight to the top, first thing. Ok, it's fine for someone to want to team with someone they know, but they should have been put on the fill in runs. They showed you what they think of you so move on. Don't even bother asking for a raise. Do some research and toward the end of January put some applications in. And make sure they don't try putting anything about that accident on you when they find out you are looking for something else.

Personally sicne you dont own the truck you are at the whim of the company. Until you own can you truly say squat over what happens with the truck.

Now if your a boss it's your right to run your business however you think is best but start to mess with a man's money and there will be problems keeping good employeeTruckermania, kemosabi49, lovesthedrive and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wow, what pictures. Glad you both walked away from it.
Coffey Thanks this. -
It isn't your problem, it is theirs and they would not have lost a driver if the guy was good. But I would tell you to find another company asap and tell them this is the reason you left, lack of respect. -
Coffey and Cabinover101 Thank this.

The respect or consideration for the employees point of view, the give and take or trade offs between
the "boss"; whatever position he holds (supervisor-dispatcher-trainer) seems to be gone completely.
I drove for a small company for a few years. The son did the dispatching and was agreeable to deal with.
But his dad; was very different. I vividly recall him coming into the bunkhouse quietly; bending down some, and as I awoke, in a low voice saying: Roger, could I get you to get ready and run up to Waukesha and
pick up a load we have for Miami? (We were in Starkville, MS)
Also, there was a time when small fleet owners said: Watch it,don't say good morning to them the wrong
way or they will be gone....We were not job hoppers, but the level was: "Go and come, take care of the
equipment and treat the customer fairly." If a problem with a customer; you presented your side, went
on doing the job and he took care of it...Coffey Thanks this. -
