    On the back of it, it even says "this credential is issued under authority of the United States Government".

    A person would think it would work for a second ID...

    I had to be fingerprinted, photographed, background checked and interviewed (at the US consulate) for my US work visa. The visa itself is super-fancy, same type of security measures you see on paper currency, and it has my photo on it.

    I wonder if that would qualify as government-issued ID!

    (In reality, my driver license is probably easier. :)

    That is exactly what I feel will come about with my Twic card. I'll probably never have a reason to use it. I asked at the office where I got the card if it could be used as identification at an airport of anywhere else and she told me no. It made feel so much better knowing I spent this money on another bureaucratic piece of red tape.

    Go online and google Twic, all the info you need is on the goverments website. If you live near a port they usually have an office at the port that handles Twic apps.
