Got Pre-hire thinking of going with TMC.

    Ok I got a prehire from TMC, Star Transport(Morton IL), Covenant, USA Truck, and Crst.


    I think TMC is my best choice just wanted some opinions if i am making right choice.

    Also how far am i going to have to drive for trainer any in central IL. We are down to one vehicle and don't want to have to buy another one though looking like i will have to just to have it sit somewhere while training.

    Any advice or comments welcomed Thanks

    You won't need to drive. They will put you on a bus. Of that list TMC would be the best.

    Put on a bus to orientation but i mean once i get out there in training had a guy tell me he drove to indiana every week to meet his trainer.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Anyone You think i should put in an app in with i only filled out 6.

    Most guys go to the home town of the trainer. The co puts you in a hotel. If this guy was driving every week to his trainer it means he was going home....:biggrin_2556:

    You may get lucky and get a trainer near home.
    I agree with them though, of the choices you name TMC is the best one.

    TMC is the best choice. And there is a chance you might have to drive to meet a trainer, I had to drive from South Jersey to Virgina to meet my trainer, Oh and it was just under the 200 mile limit that gets you a hotel, 186 miles. They cover tolls and fuel though, at that time.

    I drove 185 miles each way each weekend with my trainer, we were home every weekend. My trainer was out of East Peoria which is pretty close to central IL, but he told me last week with the cuts in pay and elimination of trainer bonuses he's not training anymore once he finishes with his current trainee. To bad really, he was a good trainer.

    i got lucky i live in streator,il and my trainer was in my town...i did kno the guy so it helped. But im on my last week of training and they send me with a guy outta quincy,il. i told mt training cordinator i didnt ave the mone to drive all the way there so they had a another driver in a rental car shuttle me down to quincy. but i kno there was a guy in my class that from morris,il and his trainer was in indy...i kno lots of people in my class had trainers over 200 miles...it was a really big issue. good luck!

    I have a feeling you will be seeing alot of this and it will be harder and harder as time goes on as trainers stop training....
