Missed a pop up inspection site, do I tell the CO?

    So I stopped at a pilot in Tennessee for fuel. Then when I got back on the interstate less than a mile, there was a brake inspection site. I thought it was a normal exit because I was basically still merging on the highway. By time, I realized it was an inspection stop before a downgrade, it was too late. Two cop cars were waiting at the end of the inspection ramp. Me and another truck driver got pulled over. Long story short I got a level three inspection with no violations. The officer told me to drive safe and don’t let it happen again. I didn’t get a written warning or a ticket. When I report to my company about the inspection, should I tell them that I also bypassed the inspection site? I don’t want to open myself up to be fired if I don’t have to.

    No, just say you were inspected at the weigh station.
    Saying you bypassed the weigh station could come back to haunt you in the future.

    You have to send your company the inspection report. This report would list all fines and violations. Everything the company needs to know is on the inspection report. A good report gets you an “atta boy.”

    VOLUNTEERING unfavorable information would tell everyone in the office that you are a dumbarse. The first infraction that happens after that, even something small and insignificant, they will view you as a liability.

    Hard to believe you blew the brake check station at Monteagle and the trooper didn't note it on the inspection report.
