    ^^^ THIS ^^^

THIS is why I DO NOT listen to the radio at all when I drive. I listen to the truck. Period.

Saved my bacon and $$$ more than once. Hear a little whistle in the engine? Could be a blown hose. Hear a little "Pffffttt" back behind you? Could be a defective patch on a tire.

    LISTEN to your truck.

I can't answer how patient they will be. They will evaluate you and decide. They are only buying auto trucks these days.

Go with a company that has apu's. Some companies don't let you idle enough to stay cool in this hot weather.

    Try FedEx ground.

Autos are nice. Just have to learn the way they operate. Mountains and snow are a breeze! The only problem I've ever had is being stuck in ice. The Volvo wouldn't let me rock it to get out.

So basically autos don't rock? I would rather drive a truck that really ROCKS! Know what I'm saying? I guess that's why you don't see autos off road.

Also depends on who is evaluating you on your road test. In school I was able to shift "ok", with a trainer did ok too. Took my road test after training and was told I couldn't shift properly and was a safety hazard. I am sure there are plenty of companies that will work with you knowing that you are new and still learning, some just expect you hit all of the gears flawlessly like you have been driving that thing for the last 10 years.
