In ks the first time they notified me I got in touch with them and explained that otr was living on the highway for six weeks in a box bolted to the back of a truck and then coming home for s couple days, usually on the weekends and that's what I do for a living now. They excused me and I never heard from them again.

If it's not a certified letter, then there's no proof you received it. A friend's dad was a j.p. and said this. But my county started texting summons and some how I got rooked in. I made alot of excuses about how I'm a truck driver and am gone alot. They just delayed the date and finally gave me one last chance. After 8 months of putting it off.
The case got settled out of court as usual.

    xzmpt and 77fib77 Thank this.

Most of the time what happens next is up to the courts. Because there is a jury pool a non-report might not become an issue. When it started to be such an issue that a Judge is forced to continue a case you might find a cop knocking on your door.

Back in the day, my hometown newspaper was considered the "local organ" and all legal notices were placed there. You could tell if there was an upcoming divorce because a person would have published a statement I am not responsible for debts not made by me. You could see (Before HIPAA) hospital admissions and discharges there. They would also publish the results of the City Recorders Court and County State Court. They would also publish the names of all people called for jury duty. If my memory serves these lists were published 3 times. Back in the day (pre-internet) if you did not see your name trust me somebody would call you.

Don't break your neck trying to solve this Rubik's Cube puzzle. Just don't make a habit of continually ignoring these summons.
