    I am in a lease with Transam. My trans went out..2 weeks sitting in a hotel, a new trans and I am $15k in the hole on my maint account. If I give my 2 weeks notice, will they come after me for the $15k?

    Two weeks for a new transmission? Someone would owe me money. A transmission rebuild is a one day job. Maybe two if the mechanic doesn't want to work that hard. How do you get 15 grand in the hole over a transmission?

    Tramnsmission should be warranty work and I'd dang sure be talking to KW about lost wages for taking so long!!!!!

    another story i hear about these lease purchase programs, Why do drivers still get into them, if there is one that really works please let me know.

    If I were you I'd talk to a trucking lawyer real soon.
    These guys are not going to give you a fair shake unless you force their hand.

    I don't think you can blame the L/P program on this one. Look at the shop.
    If he owned the truck free and clear and the tranny went out, he'd still be responsible for the costs.
    True, he needs to be talking to whomever over the time span, the warranty and lost wages, but I guarantee if an O/O had this problem, he'd be in the same spot.
    Now if he's required to use TransAm's shop and costs, then that's another story.
    But in any event, I'd be hammering all over whomever at TransAm to get this covered and some compensation pay.
