I MEAN really...........WHAT DOES IT MATTER WHAT HIS "COLOR" IS.
I am begining to seriously think you shave your head on weekends and don a red robe. -

Trucks cross it all day long, but if they are 13'6 they have to go down the middle.
There are a few like that around route 6. I drove flatbed in and out of there for the last year. -
2 companies up here in canada have banned gps units from their trucks and have warned their drivers that if caught with one they will be terminated immediately do i blame them? yes and no you get young kids out of school who dont know their ### from their elbow and strickly rely on these units and end up costing thousands and thousands of dollars in damage to equipment but then again this is quebec preety soon they'll ban arm rests in trucks to make sure the driver has his both hands on the steering wheel for crying out loud

What you mean you want people to think before they drive, come on now. I agree with you on the GPS units should not be used for directions. If you don't know North for East than you don't belong behind the wheel, eh! -
In the first place GPS doesn't wreck trucks, truckers wreck trucks. In the second place, no one should listen to a techy device blindly. Personnaly I use mine to guide me through cities like LA because it is nearly impossible to memorize the menagarie of highways before you make the trip. I also review the maps to get a mental picture of where I am going.
The bottom line is, there is nothing wrong with using a GPS as a navigational tool. Just don't depend on it blindly. Any company that bans GPS or trucker that uses it without thinking are idiots. -
i agree and thats exactly my point some ppl solely rely only on their gps units and thats what gets them into trouble and thats why those companies are banning them from their trucks but i went under a bridge the other day which posted 12'7 and it's obvious that it's a foot higher than what it actually says they use the same system up here unless it says actual clearance then it's usually a foot higher.

I use my gps but I also use my map and if I get any my qual comm directions. I also call shippers/recievers to get directions. I use my gps also if I want to see if a rest areas coming up where a walmart is or just to find places on the way but even then I still look at my map for low clerances and restricted routes.
