Is there a driver out there that can give me the pro's and con's of the best gps for trucks out there???? I've been looking at a ton of different models but I need some real input for actual gps users on which one I should buy. If you guys can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it- Thanks

Fully understood but I think these days it's always good to plan multiple routes in case of whatever happens out there, accidents, weather conditions construction closure's whatever it may be so I'm just looking to make a smart investment for me and my truck

Go to the electronics thread. Allot of info on there.
Also Diesel Boss is on there allot. He owns a shop and does allot of reviews on them. You can find links to his reviews on his posts. Just look around.

I suggest to only use them for quick reference if you plan your route in advance using a map and asking other driver is the best bet.

I'm running a Rand McNally TND-500. If you've ever used a car GPS, this truck unit will impress!

Remember, any GPS is just a tool, not a complete solution. Be sure to carry an Trucker's Road Atlas with you as well.

I also use my iphone gps as well with the Rand and the Atlas.

i like mine, but yes dont trust it. almost killed me yesterday when i got to ####y/lazy with it. always plan your own route and know where your going, and use it as a reference. this isnt like your car where if you take a wrong turn it can always be fixed fairly easy. you can get in trouble really fast in a truck even without relying on one of these. once you do i promise getting royally screwed is only a matter of time.
