Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Comericial GPS units? I google searched a few and the running theme seemed to be they would take you into the middle of a field and tell you that your there. Does anyone have any good experiences with acertain brand or any recommendations of any i should consider when i go to get one. I dont want to drop 400 bucks on a P.O.S.
Thanks

My GPS tip is to buy a Rand McNally Motor Carrier Road Atlas and always check your route with that also before you start your trip. You'd be surprised how many time you'll find the need to change your route from what the GPS says.
As far as the best GPS unit, you'll find that every driver has his or her own favorite unit. My personal favorite is a Garmin, but only because I've always used that brand, and I'm used to the map screen. But even their GPS is wrong from time to time. -

I have ran to the same 1 warehouse my entire trucking career. Columbus ohio to INdy, Ind 1-70 the hole route and only had about 3 turns all night lol just a little nervouse about having to actually get around now

I have the CoPilot Truck software, though I do not need it often due to the Qualcomm unit in the Walmart trucks having built in PC Miler navigation. Very good software.
You can also do like we did in the olden days and just buy a Rand McNally Motor Carrier atlas and do your own routing. -
Friend, If you are going OTR, than go with the Rand McNally. For me it has been a worthwhile investment over the years !
