I understand that some brokers won't work with new MC/DOT numbers? They want to see at least 3 to 6 months or a year before they will give you load?

However, I hear that with a GPS tracking system (so the broker can track you) they will give loads to new numbers.

Any truth to any of this? If so where do you get the GPS and how does it get to the broker?

    Thanks

There are brokers requiring a certain amount of time being in business before working with new entrants. They has policies to protect their interests ( or clients is maybe how they see it ) . There is some kind of way using you phone and triangulation using the towers and can pinpointe your location along your route. If I recall you dial a telephone number. But I don't think it would negate company regulations as far as time in business. However I don't see it as something that will make or break you.

Your probably talking about macro point. There is a thread recently about it.

That aware gps looks like an affiliate of Linxup. I use linxup gps on all my trucks and owner ops. However, it's not a solution for tracking other companies trucks.

So to answer your question, if a broker denies you then that's probably end of story as the broker likely won't have the authority to make a decision to accept you.

Smaller companies that can make a game time decision, likely either aren't setup with macropoint or maybe would use you regardless.

You really just have to work through it, we all have done it. Or, I guess you could register your authority prior to putting your truck on the road but that's probably not very feasible.

Most any broker will work with you after 6 months. All brokers do not require time in business to qualify. They are looking at your insurance, and safety rating and your performance. With no history some companies have restrictions. They are a small number IMO. It should not be a problem. Hope this helps.

    That does help, thank you.

Yes mc/dot has been seasoning for month or so and I won't be on road for another month or so.

Yes linxup is saying the broker gets a personal log in (given by you to them) and can track you minute by minute.

That's true, didn't think about that. You could just make them a username to log in. Linxup does update every minute. Thx for bringing that to my attention.
