grad from nyc looking for otr

Hello,
I’m a recent grad from nyc looking for an Otr flatbed or tanker (no hazmat) company. I’ve applied to over 20+ companies, a lot take grads, but my main issue has been all of them don’t go to or hire from nyc. I’ve made it clear I don’t intend on taking my home time here ever at all, bc I’d like to travel when speaking to recruiters but they still say they don’t think it’ll work. Big and small companies…The few that are willing to take me like Melton, Paul trans, P&S logistics, RCS trucking, are backed up on training right now for atleast 2 months. Any suggestions? I’ve found it easier to find dry van/reefer companies willing to take me as a last resort.

 

As of right now my flatbed options are Jones brothers trucking (1100 a week), Swift I was told .45cpm starting & Value truck of Az.
