danny04 have you thought about which type of trucking job you want? I know plenty of companies that offer a dedicated route pay vs OTR vs LTL. Unfortunately for you most companies hire experience drivers. I would recommend you try and put together at least 2-3 years driving experience to pump up your resume.

Depends on your location; hiring area.
    Do you have any endorsements?
Answer these two questions for us so we can help.

Edit : OK, just saw your other post, you're in Los Angeles.

Reading more, now I understand. You pretty much must start over with a CDL school trucking company. You may have been able to drive at 18 intrastate with household goods mover; that's how many new CDL drivers, under the age of 21, get started.

    i dont have any endorsements

I got my cdl at age 18 so I really couldnt get my endorsenents like hazmat but I eventually want to get all of them. I think I have to do everything all over again in the DMV to get any endorsenent now

Did you complete a CDL school or do you have any driving experience?

Wow, I didn't know the pay dropped when Central merged with Swift. That sucks.

I was a Central trainee. Schooling... I can't complain. I requested another trainer after my first one wanted to use me as a mile horse without actually training me, the second one was fantastic.

As a rookie it doesn't seem like experiences between the different driver mill companies vary too much. Pick one, after your year is up... run lol.

All the big starter companies are pretty much the same - low pay - indentured servitude. Central Refrigerated is owned by Swift. I have worked for Werner and Swift ....Werner likes to push teams. Swift is not perfect but they will get you good decent miles weekly if you manage your time and run. CRST is mandatory teams too I believe. It is going to depend on you which one suits your needs. Main thing, choose one and stick it out for ONE YEAR, then move on to a better company.
