    To me living in FL, which I hated before getting into trucking, is like cutting off your leg and then trying to win a 100 yard race. You limit your trucking opportunities?

    I would leave FL for a hundred reasons, trucking jobs is just 1 reason.

    Things are pretty nice over here in the panhandle, as compared to central and south Florida. Pace of life is a little slower. People are friendlier. Pensacola is a great little town. World’s most beautiful beaches. Blue Angels air show 2x a year. Great water sports and fishing.

    Panhandle repeatedly saves Florida from the commies, ergo, saves the Republic.

    My wife and I have deep roots and both our extended families live here . Wife will get Florida defined benefit pension.

    No state income tax. Low sales tax. Low property taxes on homestead exemption homes.

    Very pro-2d Amendment state: stand your ground, castle doctrine, “shall issue” CCW licenses.

    Close enough to Alabama that a ‘Bama fan can feel at home.

    Those are just a few reasons why I like Florida.

    Honestly I am getting the heck outa florida. ASAP. I may even just do the trip to one of the Swift training locations, then Home Terminal out of OKC. Rather than doing it in FL then moving to OKC.
