all kinds of 'em. May, Werner, Swift, US Express, Stevens.... the list goes on and on. Just about any company that will hire a truck school grad is worth checking out.
I had no problems, and I'd held the same job for almost 15 years. Believe it or not, that was actually a strike against me! (the mind boggles) -
Most companies are somewhat anal (can I say that?) about job history. They don't want any unexplainable gaps in work history
-
Don' give up.
Were you trying for van, reefer or flatbed -
If there are gaps in your employment, you need to explain them. If you had periods where you were not employed, letters from friends as verification that you were not employed may be useful. I had to do that to explain a gap in my employment.
-
How exactly do they look into it, from the info you gave them or tax records or what..
-
Generally from the info that you provide them. I don't know what the allowed time between jobs is. The main gap I had to explain was from August of 1998 when I left an autoparts warehouse job and January of 1999 when I started driving school. I also had to provide tax records from the time when I had my own business for verification of that.

Thats the problem i might have, I've owned my own business from 10-2002 to present but didn't file in 03, worked around the farm for room and board ans was paid cash..
-
When exactly do yot find out about issues like this, in school, or orientation, are you then stuck with the whole school fee or is there a company that will hire you out of school knowing what happened as far as work history goes
-
I'm trying to think back to 1999 here. I didn't need it for school, but the school I went to was decent enough to tell me that I would need that sort of information. If you don't have all of your tax records still, you can request the necessary information from the IRS. As far as the year working around the farm for cash, probably a letter of some type would take care of that.
