I'm looking for any info about the following companies...

    *Equity
    *Van Eerden
    *NTB
*MPH(Michigan Produce Haulers) - Fremont, MI
    *Heeren Bros. - Hesperia, MI

    I'm wondering about things like...

    Apu?
    Inverters?
    Miles - good or bad?
    Electronic logs or paper?
Mileage pay for newbie with 6 months experience and clean record?
Bring truck home on home time or not?

Basically any thing else anyone can add would be appreciated... pro or con.

I drove for NTB for over 8 years but they're a short haul company which means you will be bumping docks a lot. All in all, not a bad company but the pay is a little low. I think it tops out at .41.

There have been several posts on here about them. Do a search and draw your own conclusions. Don't ask me a lot of questions about them as I retired in 2002 and things have probably changed since then. I do know a few things though. You can't take the truck home. You must drop it at your home termial. All trucks have the APU and they use paper logs. I think the starting mileage pay for newbies is .31 but don't quote me on that. As for miles, I averaged around 2500 a week. Some weeks more, some less.

Even though they are a short haul company, they do travel to the Southeast....Tenn, Ga, Ala and as far as Texas.

If you're still interested, give them a call. I do know they're only hiring out of certain areas. The website is www.ntbtrk.com.
Good luck on whichever way you go.

EDIT: I just checked the website and they are only hiring drivers out of SW Ohio...not sure how current it is.

What about ALTL in Hudsonville? Newer equipment thats well amintained. Dont take the truck home. A few have apu's. Alot of their freight is out and back, half of the out bound is usually office furniture (light loads)
