Due to a family illness i had to leave trucking a dozen years ago,so aside from Schneider National's refresher course for experienced drivers, are there any other starter companies that offer refreshers that you folks would recommend to sorta ease back into trucking. Have all the endorsements, renewed my hazmat, have a twic card, passed my dot physical, never had a dui or been arrested, and have a clean mvr and dac.Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Celadon has one: I’ve been here for years: they take care of me: they’ve recently upped driver pay and expanded vacation pay.. we’ve had financial difficulties last year; but the reorganization of the company is going well... call em

Abilene Motor Express hired a driver that had been off the road 20 yrs. It's a good outfit in Richmond,VA and they'll probably hire you.

If I were you, I'd get a copy of my driving record, walk into these places, plop it on the recruiter's desk, and say, "you'd be stupid NOT to hire me. Refresher course? I backed up more miles than you drove forward, you can cram it with walnuts". See where that goes.

Um, if you're talking to me, that may or may not go too well. I did that 25 years ago, but I knew the boss.

I got a question as well does one have to do a refresher course? i'm curious cause i hadn't driven a truck for nearly 8 years went and applied for a job and got it straight away, its kinda like riding a bike you never forget i haven't ridden a bike for over 30 years but i'll still bet i could just jump on one and go for a ride.

Lepton1, Wargames and luv2fly352 Thank this.
