Hey Giggles, I htink theonly way to grt hired for sure is to walk in the door. I don't know any CO that provides housing and I think wages to start for drivers average $15- $17, not sure. There was a Craigslist ad I called on in Odessa and they were offering $18-$20 and they did call back when I left a message. But the problem is housing and they told me to try and find housing and call back. I work for Nabors and they have shops all over. Try questions for new drivers, theyhave a couple of threads to find info.

The price of oil would have to cut in half for the drilling to stop right now. It's not gonna happen. In 2008 when the bottom fell out the price dropped dramatically but came back within a few months if I remember right.
Natural gas fields are gonna be a different story though. The price is so low right now most companies are moving their rigs out of the barnett and Marcellus.
If your husbands in north Dakota I wouldn't worry too much. Winters are always slow and it seems every company with a few trucks are up there tryin to make a buck right now. The rates need to come down a little up there so some of the companies will fall off and there will be more work to go around.jvar4001 Thanks this.
