I went to their official YouTube channel. This is the second most recent uploaded video on their channel, uploaded 9 months ago. It's only 2 minutes long, so very short.
A few things:
1. Why is the CEO wearing his hat backwards? This is a middle aged man running a company.
2. He just casually drops the GD curse word at the end of his video like it's nothing. It doesn't matter if he's not a Christian, it's still incredibly disrespectful to casually blasphemy any religious figure, much less if he is supposed to be a CEO of a public company and more than likely has many Christians working for him.
3. He didn't have one positive thing to say about his drivers. The only mention of his drivers were that there were too many backing accidents, which he got angry at (this is where the GD curse word came in).
4. He says in this video there's not enough inbound freight in the area for him to get his drivers to the terminal more and see them. He said he planned on moving the company out of Mapleton (and out of ND I'm assuming?) and moving them by September of next year (so by September of 2025 because this video was made in 2024).
I wonder if he'll try to salvage what he can of the company and downsize to very few trucks and move the HQ somewhere else?
Also, watching that video made me glad I never went there. I really dodged a bullet. At one point I considered going to either Shipex or Great Plains because of their salary pay, which seemed to be on the cutting edge of things when both companies came out with it. Now Shipex had that one naked driver go viral pouring piss out of his truck (lol) and Great Plains just looks like a wreck. That video I'm posting below makes the owner seem very negative and toxic, I can't imagine working for somebody like that.
Great plains transport not so great

I’ll stop by and take a look either this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon on my way home. I haven’t heard or seen much of them at all in the last few weeks.
I’ll let y’all know what I find.BeHereNow97 Thanks this. -
They are down to 40 trucks, with 34 of them being Penske Lease Trucks. Tomorrow is the last day they will be in Mapleton, they will no longer have a physical building. Last I knew, all the parked equipment is still sitting at the yard there.

When a company loses 50 plus percent of its truck count it's pretty much game over at that point regardless of their plans. Drivers that are still there are looking for their next opportunity and recruiting new drivers is near impossible, too much uncertainty for any prospective drivers worth their salt to make a move to them.
