I started with this company in the container division ran two containers and after that ran power only loads off the load board. The agent didn't communicate properly and kept me in the blind first week was the only week I made any money as a owner operator with this company. The other weeks I made company driver money everything less than $1,000. Next I went to the other agent within the company running dry van. First week with that agent I also sat until Friday didn't make any money rest of the weeks I still made less than $1000 which lead me to have to give up my truck because I was making payments and couldn't make enough money from the company to afford my truck note. Didn't even get my last check because they ran me ragged for cheap loads close to 1000 miles. So it got used up in fuel and was in the negative when I got my settlement. Greatwide is not a good company and as a owner operator they'll tell you that you have to run across country to make any money with them. They take 25% and dispatch will try to push you to run in inclement weather. Recruiting will lie to you and sell dreams, don't believe it. They run off the load board like Uber freight and other load boards that regular small companies use, the bottom of the barrel loads. I ran close to 3000 miles and still didn't see a paycheck. STAY AWAY!! Fair warning!!

I gotta friend that ran for them pulling flatbed. He had a nice KW through lease, but it was difficult for him to consistently get loads. He had to pick up an oversize in I think New Mexico, thay actually paid well. He picks it up, on a Friday, but they failed to tell him that it was for another lease driver. He ties down the load with his own equipment, the escorts are yelling at him to unhook so they can get down the road while there was daylight, and the agents are saying they'll find him something that following Monday. The agent wanted my friend to pick up that load and give it to the other driver(who was banned from that particular shipper). My friend said the hell with that, and took that load right back to the shipper lol. He deadheaded home and quit Great Wide. Everything you described in your post is a lot of what he went through. I'm not so sure how customer freight they have. I think at one time they had a lot of customers but everything my friend was hauling was purely broker loads.
Lonesome, mjd4277 and Crude Truckin' Thank this. -

I’ll throw my 2 cents in on this and say that running or domiciled to an agent is absolutely not the way to go. Don’t know about flatbed but van is low low low on the rate. They show 2.50-3 a mile and that’s not true. Also wanting to switch to an agent or go to central from an agent you will find that it won’t happen at your request. It’s based on the permission of the agent. This makes you a glorified company driver not an owner operator. 2 months here digging trying and pushing I’ve done good to clear 1450 in a week after fuel and deductions. That was staying out 2 weeks. Transfreight Dallas Mavis cheetah it’s all the same just a different sticker.
