You wouldn't violate the HOS by staying on duty the entire time. You can be on duty 24/7 and not violate HOS. You just can't drive until you get a 10 hr break. A company I worked for tried the same thing, thinking drivers wouldn't burn there hours sitting like that. They were wrong.

What does you being a white male and
Not wearing sandals have to do with anything.
Your privileged attitude is why Schneider
Is sticking it too you.
Your just another new guy with a CDL to them.
This is a colorless job. The cream rises to
The top. All that matters to them is performance.
Your not under contract to them,
Make a few phone calls and get out of there.
Obviously, the more you complain, the worst
They treat you.
The next time don't believe anything the recruiter
Tells you.
Ask the drivers of the company you want to
Work for,for the real answers.God prefers Diesels, nredfor88, 88 Alpha and 1 other person Thank this. -
The majority of drivers I see that wear sandles are american. Your trying to make a racial thing out of it with the privileged"white male" comment. Your post gets a big thumbs down.

I disagree. The OP chose to bring his color into the conversation. A comment that was not needed nor had any bearing on the issues he is having.Swine hauler, God prefers Diesels and Cattleman84 Thank this.

I am single white male, so I paid for my CDL ENTIRELY out of pocket with no company or government assistance.
That's a quote from the OP. Not me.
Read the whole thread before you comment
On something like that.God prefers Diesels Thanks this. -
I would aggressively start reaching out to other companies and see what happens. I would not care at all if Schneider caught wind of it via potential employers contacting them for employment verification.
Life is short. You can always do better.... until you find a place that really makes sense to you.
Loyalty to nonsense is a dead thing. It is easier to find a job when you have one already.
Put yourself out there and find something else.
I have never heard of someone loving Schneider.God prefers Diesels, nredfor88, meechyaboy and 2 others Thank this. -
I recommend Marten. They have nice trucks with APUs and they pay immediate detention pay. I've gotten two detention checks so far this week. $40 for 2 hours wait. And then $15 for a 45 minute wait. And they confirm the pay a couple of hours after you scan your documents.
I've only been with them for a week but they have kept me busy the entire time. Before I ever finish my current load I already have a pre-trip waiting for me. And so far they've all been 600-800 mile loads each time.
And not to gush on too much about Marten but it's the little things like the fact that each truck has a scanner inside of it so you don't have to fool around with the Transflo app to give them the documents.
And they immediately pay for the Weigh My Truck app so you don't have to do reimbursement after you scale. The EZ Pass works as it is supposed to. Oh yeah and I've only been to their Memphis terminal but it's really well layout and low stress type of environment. I remember being at PAM and ##### going through their Laredo yard at night felt like you were inside of a Terminator movie being filmed on Mars it was so chaotic there.Last edited: Apr 15, 2021
Speed_Drums and Western flyer Thank this. -
Where does it say you have to be ''on duty'' to be paid?
-
Where is your location?
Exactly how much experience do you have ? -
but at the same time if he only has 3 mos exp and end up at Pam just to move like I said he’ll hate the trucking industry... a big key is not finding “Something else”... it’s finding a job that significantly better.. life is short but also sticking out a few more more can months can be the difference between a getting great gig and jumping to another trash megaLast edited: Apr 15, 2021
