I do my dead level best to help truckers out when I am on patrol. I have a cb in my car and I can tell when the qualcomm has sent them the wrong way and they are going to be in a jam and get stuck. I always show leniency on the truck drivers, although there are some that are stupid enough to drink and drive in the personal vehicle, practically guaranteeing they won't drive a truck for at least five years. I also like the looks on the truck drivers faces when I talk to them and I catch them lying because I know as much as they do about logs, weights, tandem distance, etc.
Rikdev50, I think the sheriff's dept will throw me out first. The bullhauler I run with is too busy buying LED lights for his truck to notice![]()
Greetings from a deputy sheriff

Was pulled over one night in Penn. Construction on the 4 corners where the on ramp was so it was 1 lane from each direction. it was 2 in the morning and I just left a flying hook and was going to take a Left turn to get back on 80 West. It was 2:00 AM Not a Car on the road...... Well Uhmmm there was a County Mounty that pulled out of the hook RIGHT behind my Trailer. I came to the Light that was Red, Stopped. Waited. watched as there was no cars (in sight) and became tired of waiting and turned Left....
He pulls me over on the ramp. and I said " YOU GOT ME" He asked me why and I told him that "Saw no-one and went. and If I had saw you..... I wouldn't of gone." He said because I was honest, He let me go..... Made me happy. -
I have the utmost respect for law enforcement officers. Even wanted to be one for years

I laugh when I hear truckers talk about me on the cb and I amswer them. Its usually complete silence, followed by "man he's got a good sounding radio." It also comes in handy when I need to peg it out going on a call down the hammer lane and need them slow freight haulers to get out of the way.

I met an Indiana trooper once and yelled at him on the radio about a gator mess on an S-curve behind me. Told him it might cause an accident.
He thanked me and told me to have a nice trip. -
