Not having your logbook up to date is an out of service violation which has bigger implications than just a fine. As I remember it you haven’t even driven since the HOS changed in 03 or whenever it was so you’re out of touch.

We like the old math bs, instead of this new math crap.

Paper logs can muddle that average. 8 minute breaks get logged legally at15. That can push your average speed up above what you can actually run.

A now defunct company I used to.drive for sent a paper warning to any driver averaging over 65 mph.
One of the ladies worked reception and loaded rods into the computer program. It wasn't a big deal if you were running in 70 mph or higher states, mostly, but back then, Ohio and Illinois limited truck speeds to 55 or lower, other states, like Indiana were at 60.
My truck was governed at 73. I got a few warnings. Didn't get noticed much by LEOs for speeding, except for a few where the transmission popped out of gear, and an overzealous city kitty poaching on the hwy, which came to an end about that time.
Never yet by calculation. -

I just turned my truck up to 80 on the pedal and tested it out. I had to fire myself later in the day.
I'm hoping I will show a little bit of mercy and hire myself back.cjb logistics, JoeyJunk, speedyk and 4 others Thank this. -

I’ve been on paperlogs this year and I always have a major worry they will whip out a map and start calculating the exact miles it takes and the road speed limits and all this other stuff to get me. It’s hard living in Texas with an open truck.

(To avoid confusing anyone, there is old saying. If it's good it's illegal)
I spent some time in Texas with a big rig and between the food and the paychecks it was a great time. You would think I make a home down that way. Truth is I almost did.
