I'm Otr but I'm of the opinion if you wan what's in the back of this truck, you unload it, I hate having to do all the bs to pay for a lumper, I just wanna back in, and then have a nap

I keep saying, the product is NOT delivered until it's on the customer's dock. Anyone that goes to bed and doesn't supervise the loading of product is a fool. The same with getting the product unloaded, especially a partial. The exception is a consignee that won't allow drivers on their dock.

So what happens when the consignee claims shortage after they load a pallet of flat screens into the back of the manager's pickup truck and he drives home with it? They didn't allow you on the dock for the unloading soo...

I am not allowed on the dock to load, to unload nor am I the one sealing the trailers. 90% of the time, it's already sealed and I am only doing a hook and Drop.

So how am I supposed to get inside the trailer?

    ACH1130 Thanks this.

YRC throws groceries here, what's makes you guys so special? LTL in most places throw. Where I'm from Conway, Old D, Fed Ex, Estes, MTS, MME, NPT, Reddaway, EVERYONE... It's part of the job dude. If you refuse loads from shippers and tell recievers to refuse loads "'cause you ain't doin' it" then thats just one of MANY reasons you guys are going down the tube anyways. Customer service, if you won't someone else will.

    ACH1130 and MNdriver Thank this.

Andy, as much as I agree with you. I would throw the stuff myself, as well (if it was part of the contract).
He can only go by what he is allowed to do. Whether the receiver wants it or not. He's protected by the contract and, in many cases, hindered by it as well.
If its not part of his contract, he's not supposed to or allowed to do anything to help unload.

The contract I'm under allows for the stocking of the product which I deliver. Its no big deal to me, its part of the contract.

    ACH1130 Thanks this.

Yes you are right it's not under our contract. If it was then I'd have no problem doing it
