Tried a search didn't see any recent info
I have an aplication in with them I was looking for something with more hometime and it seems in the colorado springs area it's prob 70% x endorsement jobs
Recruiter told me today they don't have alot of local work in that area but lots of regional put 2 to 3 days and that the otr guys only average 7 to 10 days out even that doesn't sound bad.
She said pay was flat rate per load up to x number of miles ( she didn't give me the number) and then up to 56 cents per mile ( based on experienc) wich is the catch she did tell me I will be on the bottom of the pay scale as I have zero tanker or hazmat experience
Any one know if that info sound close to right ?
I have just over 3 years pulling a reefer and I am looking forward to getting into something a little more challenging than just bumping a dock and going to sleep hoping groendyke would be a good company to get my foot in the door and maybe even stay around a while. I read somewhere over half there drivers where 15+ years with the company if that's true it sure does say alot for them
Groendyke colorado springs (fountain)

That's great, you'll love tanker work.

I have a face to face with the Terminal Manager on Monday , of course it will be a few weeks before starting if I'm offered a job , because I'll have to do a proper turn in on the truck I have now from prime ..
scythe08 Thanks this. -
I believe it's $.46-.52 loaded and $.34-.40 empty; and yes you will be starting on the bottom. I'm surprised they are considering you with no tanker. Everything I've heard they require at least a year.

Thought I would update this post ..
I started with Groendyke on Tuesday it's a local job not regional the recruiter didn't have a clue about the Fountain colorado terminal.
I'm currently driving a decent kenworth day cab with a 13 speed , they also have a few internationals with super 10s.
About 20 drivers total everyone seems pretty laid back . The terminal manager has been great so far . And my trainer has over 30 years hauling fuel .
We pick up from several different racks in the colorado springs area and deliver to fuel stations . Very fast paced and lots of brain work I enjoy both!
Pay is percentage not mileage basically each load has a set pay unless they add a drop or send you to Denver for the pickup .
Blue cross blue shield insurance not sure exactly what the cost is yet but it looked to be reasonable.
Overall I'm happy with the switch. Being home everyday is going to take a little time to get used to after spending almost 4 years otr . But I am loving all my free time !!!!QualityMike, Rubberduckin, d o g and 1 other person Thank this. -
Groendyke has an excellent reputation.

Finished my first week did all of the loading and unloading myself today , ( trainer looking over my shoulder ) mistakes such as dumping gas into diesel are very expensive , so he is still watching me like a hawk.
He did say he would lie to turn me loose on my own but the company requires 10 days training, Wich is fine with me I'll be able to learn where, and how to get into a few more stationsChinatown Thanks this. -

Had my first solo runs last night everything went smooth. Kinda threw a curve ball at me , I did all my training in a four compartment trailer and last night they stuck me on a five compartment .
Not a big deal really just differant.
I will say with the trailers we use with the compartments and baffles I don't feel any surge at all , I was expecting to feel a little but I don't .
Still getting used to this day cab seeing the trailer out the rear window will sometimes startle me when I see it out of the corner of my eye
Over all I am enjoying my self , and loving being home everyday ... -
Just an update been running solo for a couple weeks now everything is going smoothly , starting to learn where most of the local stations are just by hearing their number wich helps not having to take the time to get the map book out to see where they are , currently I'm averaging 4 loads in roughly 9 hours wich is just shy of 200 bucks a night sometimes a little more depending on the loads I run , so roughly 20 to 22 bucks an hour and home every night , and I'm at the very bottom of their pay scale at 22% or 16 an hour for sitting , first full check was a gross of 2100 for 2 weeks
