I see, I spoke the terminal mgr. today and was told "I'd accept a recent grad. based on a few things. Job history over 10 yrs., license and endorsements, and GPA and attendance from certified school. Bottom line if you didn't make through your school in the time the school gave you they may not be so willing. At least they were open to a guy changing careers.

OK, but getting comfortable driving a truck takes a while. I was new at it 23 years ago, and it takes a while. To take on the task of learning to do tanker work at the same time, would be a tough deal. If you think you are up to it, go for it. If it was up to me, I would have you drive for a dry van place for at least 6 months, before trying to learn tanker work. But it is up to you, if you feel you are capable of learning two things at once.
azheavyduty Thanks this. -
Thanks, I have an interview Friday so I'll go and see how it works out. I hope to catch some drivers there that would offer advice and tips as well. Plus a lot would depend on training pay, etc. Be careful out there.

If things go well in the interview, feel free to Private message me.
I have nothing bad to say about the company, but there are a few things to avoid doing if they do hire you. I could give you a little advice if you need it. -

Are you still with Groendyke? I actually called them about 3 years ago, and they wanted me. But home time seemed to be an issue there. But, I need to know what you still like, or have learned about them, please. Thanks
