But talking to your passengers, arguing, eating, doing your hair and make up, shaving, giving your kid a bottle, and all the other garbage we see 4-wheeler drivers doing is OK? Right. Got it.

That said, if you are going to talk on your cell phone while driving, it should be on a hands-free device. That is the only way I will talk on my cell phone when I am driving. I am capable of keeping my main focus on my driving while doing so.

As with most things, whether a truck driver or just a 4-wheeler, the key is knowing your limitations, similar to driving on snowy roads, etc.

I say we ban driving while driving too! Do you realize how distracting it is to drive while your driving. Next lets ban breathing because everybody knows it's bad for your health. After that ...thinking...god knows how distracting that can be!! Why would anyone want to think....we have a government to do that for us.:biggrin_25511:

Unfortunately, there are those that will cause this to come to pass. How many drivers do you see with the phone to their ear when they should be paying attention to the task at hand? See it in the truck stops all the time.

I say ban them also. Most if not all cell phone services have a voicemail plan for nothing. Use it! Do your talking when you can get stopped.

I talk to my hubby all the time, even when driving....I have a blue tooth voice activated so I never have to touch my phone. People need to accept responsibility for their actions...just MO but, wouldnt we all be better off if the drunks were taken off the road first???

    Such a waste of time.

I see drivers pulling into truck stops every day with a cell phone glued to their ear. Idiot is turning and shifting with one hand.

I cant count the number of times I have said "Put the freakin phone down and DRIVE", outloud in the car mostly to myself as I watch ppl do some of the dumbist things talk and drive, talk, drive and open hot coffee etc...DUH we can not protect ourselves from those who have no common sense with more useless laws/rules............being a good driver is about your choices no law/rule can make YOU make good choices...

Yep, my trainer did it all the time. In heavy traffic too. He would also send text messages! I'm surprised he didn't get in a wreck doing it. I won't talk on my phone while driving until I get a hands free device. I'm thinking about getting the Cobra bluetooth CB. I think that would be a great way to talk on the phone while driving.
