GTA local hourly rates are garbage

they will be getting lots of acting jobs for all the new tv commercials.Anyone else notice every commercial played here in canada lately has mostly south asians in them .i agree that ups starting at $19 a hr is low that’s the problem with union shops they want you to starve and prove yourself to them i guess

 

Another good paying job is Frito Lay in Cambridge. Had a guy from Brower go there earlier this year. Said he likes it there.

 

I had the same problem here. I was going to drive a bus for HRM, did the training, which was a joke, and tried to do it, but the pay cut was crazy and after a couple million miles being "trained" how to drive was crazy. I asked the hr lady from the city if they hire a 10yr journeyman electrician do they start at the bottom money and get trained and do their apprenticeship all over again? She said no. I told her that was her reason why I was going back to my truck.

 

Yes, my idea was in Cambridge also. A bit too far west I'd say coming from Pearson area.

 

Who hauls Amazon loads out of Toronto? Might be some decent runs.

 

In short, there are some good runs.

My old company did. The rates were good for some runs. Brampton>Windsor rate was $1100 (we drove back empty). Toronto > Moncton NB was $3200. The problem with Amazon runs is they show up on the load board for a few seconds. 30ish seconds before a company takes it. Some loads will say live unload but when you get there they would be trailer drops with no estimate on how long the unloads are.
